🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Members Voice Frustration Regarding Sizing Modifications Members of the platform have expressed outrage due to a modification that led to products showing incorrect sizing. The second-hand shopping app has revised its measurement guidelines for women's and children's clothes without notifying all shoppers about the modification. Digital Channels Response Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms stating that platform listings now display a different size category compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping. The company said the revised method more closely matches similar services. The platform has recommended to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction. Measurement Approach Changes Previously, the measurements included one number and one letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter and a range such as S/UK 8-10. With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. User Experiences A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Another user, from Glasgow, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they may become frustrated," she explained. Manual Updates Charlotte Lunn, located in England, stated she felt frustrated because the modification necessitated personal updates the measurements for "each individual item". "For me this is particularly frustrating, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she said. Marketplace Information The app has more than 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members. It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: previously, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
